Key Responsibilities
- Program and deploy PLC, HMI and MES improvements
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
- Train and develop maintenance machine repair technicians and electricians
- Support plant initiatives to drive safety, quality and delivery
- Initiate and implement repairs and improvements processes and equipment
- Investigate production and quality issues using problem solving and root cause analysis techniques
- Research, test, purchase and integrate parts and new equipment
- Plan and design new projects regarding both in internal projects and new launches
- Enforce and follow safety procedures, being attentive to unsafe behaviors or conditions and taking necessary corrective actions
- Automation expert in the plant
- PLC and electrical troubleshooting support
- Participate in regional expert circles and standardization
- Supporting and testing new equipment standards before implementation
- Support and train in launch and production equipment
- Involvement in equipment design review and sign off.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Electronics or Electrical Engineering
- 2 – 3 years of engineering experience
- Proficiency in PLC programming, drives, cameras, servos, ignition, and robot programming a plus
- Experience drawing and updating electrical schematics
- Experience in Siemens TIA Portal preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Up to 10 lbs. of force
- Limited walking and occasional prolonged standing when on the plant floor
- Limited carrying, lifting/exerting force up to 20 lbs.
